CHAMBERS COUNTY, Ala. — The community is mourning the loss of 46-year-old Christina Vowell of Wedowee, Alabama, who tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Vowell was driving a 2008 Ford Focus when it collided head-on with a 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck. The crash occurred on Highway 278 near Highway 266, about two miles east of Standing Rock. The pickup truck was driven by James Robinson of Five Points, Alabama. Authorities have not released information regarding Robinson’s condition.
Troopers reported that Vowell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. She was transported to Wellstar Douglas Medical Center in Georgia, where she was pronounced deceased. ALEA continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
