SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield community is grappling with the shocking loss of 21-year-old Delquan Scott, who was found deceased outside an apartment building at 324 E. Montclair on Tuesday morning. Police and emergency personnel responded to the scene following reports of a shooting at approximately 7:10 a.m. on November 18, 2025.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Scott, a Springfield resident, suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite immediate efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been notified, and the community mourns the tragic loss of a young life taken far too soon.

23-year-old Deandre Jonas, also from Springfield, was identified as the suspect and arrested at the scene.
