The Dover community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kathy M. Fruchey, 69, a beloved resident whose life was tragically cut short on November 17, 2025, after a pedestrian-vehicle crash on North Wooster Avenue.
Kathy was struck around 6:07 p.m. near Karle Alley and suffered critical injuries. She was first taken to Union Hospital by Dover EMS and later flown to Akron Summa by MedFlight, where she was pronounced deceased despite every effort made to save her. Her passing has left a deep ache in the hearts of family, friends, and neighbors who knew her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit.
Those who loved Kathy remember her as a thoughtful, caring woman who carried herself with quiet strength. She was a familiar face in Dover, someone who brightened the days of others with simple acts of kindness and a genuine, welcoming nature. Her presence touched many, and her absence will be deeply felt throughout the community.
