In Loving Memory of Thomas Noble

Authorities have identified the man killed after a tense hostage situation ended in an officer-involved shooting Monday night in Union Township.

The incident unfolded around 8:42 p.m. at a home on Cider Mill Drive after police responded to a 911 hang-up call. When officers arrived, they encountered a rapidly escalating situation that turned into a hostage scenario inside the residence.

According to investigators, the confrontation ended when officers fired multiple shots, a moment captured on a neighbor’s doorbell camera, which recorded at least six gunshots. One individual was transported to Mercy Hospital Anderson, where he later passed away from his injuries.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 37-year-old Thomas Noble.

No officers were injured during the incident.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now leading a comprehensive review of the shooting and the events that led up to it. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the hostage situation or what prompted the use of lethal force.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Thomas is being remembered by loved ones as a man with a kind heart and a gentle spirit—someone who carried deep love for his family and touched the lives of many around him. Those closest to him recall his loyalty, his humor, and the compassion he showed without needing to be asked. Whether sharing conversations that lasted late into the night or offering help to someone in need, Thomas had a way of making people feel supported and valued.

May the memory of Thomas Noble live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his loved ones find comfort in the warmth of his legacy, and may he rest in everlasting peace.
