BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Mary Jolly, 27, a devoted paramedic who gave her life while helping others. Early Saturday morning, Mary was assisting a driver involved in a crash on I-95 when she was struck by another vehicle. She was transported to a Florida hospital, where she passed away, surrounded by her family and colleagues.


Mary had served with GEMS since 2021 and was a member of the department’s swift water rescue team. Known for her courage, professionalism, and kindness, she approached every call with dedication and an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of others. Her colleagues remember her as calm under pressure, compassionate, and fiercely devoted to her community.
