Siblings Found Dead in Mobile Home in Apparent Murder-Suicide

St. Cloud Police are investigating a tragic domestic murder-suicide after the bodies of two siblings were discovered inside their residence on Sunday morning. Officers responded to the Mark Mobile Home Community to conduct a wellness check after a concerned relative reported that the pair had not been seen for several days.

When officers entered the home, they found the bodies of Nereida Ramirez and her brother, Frankie Ortiz, both in their 60s and longtime residents of the community. According to investigators, Ramirez had suffered multiple stab or puncture wounds and was found in a state of advanced decomposition, indicating she had been deceased for several days before police arrived.

Authorities say Ortiz died by self-strangulation, sometime after his sister’s death. Based on the evidence collected at the scene, the case is now being treated as a domestic murder-suicide.

Police have not reported any prior calls for service involving the siblings, but the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to gather information about the events leading up to their deaths.

The St. Cloud Police Department is urging community members who may be experiencing domestic violence—or know someone who might be at risk—to reach out for support. Anyone in an abusive or dangerous situation can contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for confidential help at any time.

Authorities are expected to release more details as the investigation develops.
