RICHMOND, Va. — A woman was shot by security outside a Shockoe Bottom bar early Friday morning, according to Richmond Police.
Officials say the incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. outside Stadium Sports Bar. During an altercation, the woman reportedly brandished a weapon, prompting security personnel to fire in response. She was struck and transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Major Crimes detectives are handling the investigation, which remains active. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
