The Branford community is mourning the loss of 19-year-old Tony Murillo of East Haven, who tragically passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, following a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Main Street and Cedar Street.
Tony was known to family, friends, and peers as a kind, caring, and bright young man whose presence brought joy to everyone around him. His sudden and untimely passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
On the night of the accident, first responders from the Branford Police and Fire Departments arrived promptly and worked tirelessly to provide aid. Despite their heroic efforts, Tony suffered fatal injuries. Three others were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
The Branford Police Department, together with the South Central Connecticut Regional Traffic Unit, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Authorities have urged anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Officer Coutu at 203-481-4241.
