Police were dispatched at 7:48 a.m. to the 300 block of E. State Street, where officers found Boyd deceased. Preliminary evidence indicates that this incident is connected to the Attempted Homicide of a Traverse City Police Officer that occurred the previous evening, November 15, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Authorities have confirmed that two suspects are in custody, and the firearm used in both incidents has been recovered.
