The Indianapolis community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 26-year-old Amanda Sheree Jones, a devoted mother whose life was tragically cut short in a shooting late Monday night on the south side of the city. Amanda passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, after suffering multiple gunshot wounds inside her home in the 700 block of Turtle Creek North Drive.
Around 11:54 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of multiple gunshots. When they arrived, they found Amanda critically injured inside the residence. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her loss has left her loved ones, her community, and especially her young child, in deep grief.
Amanda was the mother of a 2-year-old child, who was close by when the shooting occurred but, by grace, was not physically harmed. Her life was centered around her child, and she was known as a loving, nurturing, and selfless mother who worked hard to create a safe and bright future for her little one. Those who knew Amanda remember her for her gentle spirit, her warm smile, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her.
Two individuals were detained as persons of interest, and investigators continue working tirelessly to bring justice for Amanda. IMPD detectives are gathering witness accounts and reviewing surveillance in hopes of uncovering every detail that will help provide answers for her grieving family.
As loved ones struggle to understand this senseless tragedy, they hold tightly to the memories of Amanda’s laughter, her strength, and the love she poured into everyone she cared about. Her life was precious, and her absence leaves a deep void that can never be filled.
