The community of New Bern is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 45-year-old Sandra Creelman, whose life was tragically cut short in a single-vehicle crash late Monday night. The accident occurred around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Rivershore Drive and Gibbs Road in the James City area of Craven County.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Sandra was traveling west on Rivershore Drive when she failed to stop at the stop sign at Gibbs Road. Her vehicle continued straight through the intersection, leaving the roadway before striking a ditch and a tree. The impact caused severe injuries, and despite the swift response of first responders, Sandra could not be saved.

She was rushed to CarolinaEast Medical Center, where she tragically passed away from her injuries.

Sandra’s sudden loss has left her family, friends, and community heartbroken. She was a cherished presence—known for her kindness, her warmth, and the love she carried for those closest to her.
