Montgomery Township, Ohio — The community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Adam M. McGiffin, 38, of Wayne, who tragically passed away early Monday morning, November 24, 2025. Adam lost his life in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Caskie Road and Holcomb Road, leaving family and friends devastated by his sudden passing.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 5:22 a.m. when Adam, driving a 2021 Dodge Ram, was traveling southbound on Caskie Road. For reasons still under investigation, his vehicle failed to stop at the Holcomb Road intersection, continued through it, and struck a guard rail before colliding head-on with a ditch embankment. Adam was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
Pemberville Fire Department and EMS, Wayne Fire Department, Southeast 150 EMS, and Frank’s Towing responded to the crash, assisting deputies and medical crews. Authorities have stated that alcohol is not suspected, and the investigation is ongoing.
