In Loving Memory of Kenneth Taylor

The Wichita community is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of 48-year-old Kenneth Taylor, a respected Wichita East High School staff member and the head boys’ wrestling coach. Taylor was found deceased on the East High campus Friday morning, a tragedy that has left students, colleagues, and families across Wichita in shock. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, and no further details have been released.

Coach Taylor was a pillar within East High—someone who poured his heart into shaping young athletes and guiding them with integrity, discipline, and compassion. His commitment to Wichita’s youth extended far beyond the wrestling mat. He encouraged students to believe in themselves, to work hard, and to face challenges with courage.

To his wrestlers, he was more than a coach; he was a mentor and a steady source of support. To his colleagues, he was a trusted friend and team member, always willing to lend a hand or lift someone’s spirits. His influence reached throughout the school and into the broader Wichita community he proudly served.

As Wichita grieves this loss, we hold Coach Taylor’s family, friends, students, and the entire East High community in our hearts. His legacy of leadership, dedication, and kindness will live on through every life he touched.

May he rest in peace.
