Chicago is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 41-year-old Law Cease, who was tragically shot and killed early Thursday morning during a domestic dispute in the Morgan Park neighborhood. Around 2:20 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of West 111th Place after an argument between Law and a woman escalated into violence. During the confrontation, the woman fired a gun, striking him in the chest.

Law was rushed to Christ Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts. Police recovered a firearm at the scene, and while no arrests have yet been made, the investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together what led to the tragic events of that night.
His sudden passing has left loved ones devastated. Law is being remembered as a man with a kind heart, a steady presence, and a warm spirit that touched everyone who knew him. His absence leaves a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and community members who are struggling to make sense of such a senseless loss.
As Chicago mourns, thoughts and prayers surround Law’s grieving family. May they find comfort in the memories they hold close and strength in the love he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Law Cease.
