NESCONSET, N.Y. — A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Wednesday, November 26, when a 17-year-old male allegedly shot his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend, Emily Finn, in the family home on Shenandoah Boulevard North before turning the gun on himself.
Suffolk County Police report that the teen’s parents immediately called 911 after hearing gunfire. Officers arrived to find Emily suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:10 a.m.
The 17-year-old suspect was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face. He remains in critical but stable condition and is expected to face second-degree murder charges.
