CINCINNATI — A tragic crash on Thanksgiving morning has left the Price Hill community grieving the loss of Awfwhite Xking Jett, who was killed in a collision on West 8th Street. Police were called to the scene around 1 a.m., where they found two heavily damaged vehicles and a heartbreaking scene no family should ever face.
Investigators determined that a Ford Escape, traveling eastbound, struck Awfwhite’s 2012 Acura as he drove south along West 8th Street. The impact was catastrophic. Despite immediate emergency efforts, Awfwhite was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford fled on foot before officers arrived, leaving behind a passenger who was not injured. Authorities say speed and possible impairment are being examined as factors in the deadly crash.
For Awfwhite’s family, what should have been a day of gratitude turned into unimaginable sorrow. They are now left mourning a young man whose life meant everything to those who loved him. Awfwhite is remembered as kind, vibrant, and full of heart—someone who brought light into every room and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
His loved ones describe him as a caring soul with a warm spirit, a person whose presence made life better for those around him. The emptiness left by his passing is profound, and the community stands with his family as they navigate this painful loss. Though gone far too soon, Awfwhite’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who cherished him.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the fleeing driver or the events leading up to the crash to contact the Cincinnati Police Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
May Awfwhite Xking Jett rest in peace, forever loved and never forgotten.
