The Toledo community is mourning the tragic loss of 27-year-old Malicai Calder, whose life was cut short under devastating circumstances. Calder was reported missing on Saturday, November 15, after last being seen in the 1400 block of Secor Road in west Toledo. He was described as 5’11” and 210 pounds and may have been operating a white Jeep Wagoneer at the time he disappeared.
Police later discovered Calder’s remains inside his own vehicle after stopping 32-year-old Martel Huggins, who was driving Calder’s car. Huggins has since been arrested and charged in connection with Calder’s murder. The circumstances surrounding Calder’s death have left family, friends, and the community in deep shock and grief.
Malicai was known for his warmth, generosity, and the way he could bring joy to those around him. His family and friends remember him as a kind and caring individual who made a positive impact on everyone he met. The abrupt and tragic nature of his passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who loved him.
During this heartbreaking time, the Toledo community has come together to honor Calder’s memory, offering support and prayers to his grieving family. His life, though taken too soon, is remembered for the love, laughter, and compassion he shared.
May Malicai Calder rest in peace, and may his family, friends, and all who loved him find comfort in the outpouring of care from the community. His legacy will continue to live in the hearts of everyone whose lives he touched.
