A rosary service has been scheduled to honor the lives of 14-year-old Brayden Swinyard and 16-year-old Luke Swinyard, the Harris County brothers whose tragic deaths have deeply shaken the community.
According to their obituary, Brayden was a student at Harris County Carver Middle School and a passionate theatre enthusiast. He had recently completed a play and was known for his bright spirit and love for performing.
Luke, a junior at Harris County High School, was described as a talented young cook and true “foodie.” He loved experimenting with recipes and sharing meals with those around him.
The rosary will be held Monday at 5 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home, with visitation immediately following until 7 p.m. Family, friends, classmates, and community members are invited to attend and honor the brothers’ memories.
The boys were shot and killed by their stepfather, Eric Grigsby, at their home in Harris County on Monday, November 17, 2025. The heartbreaking loss has left their family and community grieving and searching for ways to support one another.
Their father, John Swinyard, has created a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses and ensure Brayden and Luke are laid to rest with dignity. The community is being asked to give what they can to help the family reach their goal.
“As some of you know, Monday Nov 17, 2025 Eric Grigsby shot and killed his step sons 16 yr old Luke Swinyard and 14 yr old Brayden Swinyard. The boys’ father John Swinyard has started a GoFundMe page to help raise money so they can rest in peace. I’m asking the community to give what they can to help this family reach their goal.
