Tiffin Murder-Suicide Leaves Two Adults and Two Children Dead

TIFFIN, Ohio — A shocking murder-suicide has left the Tiffin community reeling after two adults and two children were killed Wednesday evening. Tiffin police released new details Thursday as the investigation continues.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Huss Street around 6:24 p.m. following reports of gunfire and screaming. When they arrived, several people had been shot.

Investigators said the mother of the children had returned to the home to gather belongings due to ongoing domestic issues. She asked Dustin Willey, 29, the father of her oldest child, to help her while her husband, Ryan Eagon, 42, was believed to be working out of town.

The mother and Willey were inside the home while the children, ages 7 years and 7 months, waited outside. After hearing the 7-year-old cry, they checked on him and saw Eagon in the driveway. Authorities say Eagon immediately chased Willey, pushed past the mother, and fired multiple shots. He then shot both children before continuing at Willey and ultimately fatally shooting himself.

The mother carried the injured children back inside before first responders arrived. Willey was transported to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where he later died. The infant and Eagon were pronounced dead at the home. The 7-year-old later died at the hospital. No officers fired their weapons, and no law enforcement personnel were hurt.

The mother, who reported the incident, is not being publicly identified under Marsy’s Law. The Tiffin Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Seneca County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate, with autopsies pending.

Tiffin Police Chief David Paul said, “This tragedy has had a profound emotional impact on families, first responders, medical staff, schools, and the broader community. Resources for grief support and counseling are being coordinated for anyone affected. Further updates will be released as appropriate.”

This heartbreaking event has left a deep mark on Tiffin, highlighting the fragility of life and the importance of community support in times of tragedy.
