MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the lives of two people on Sunday afternoon, November 16, near the intersection of Appleton Avenue and Fairmount.


Authorities say the crash occurred around 3:59 p.m., when a vehicle traveling southeast on Appleton Avenue left the roadway, collided with a tree, and caught fire. Both occupants of the vehicle, a 38-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Loved ones have identified the victims as Jeremiah “JWeezy” Jefferies, 38, and Tasha, 39. Their sudden deaths have sent shockwaves through the community and left friends and neighbors devastated.
“For it to be right outside our house, it’s dangerous. We don’t feel safe and it’s just really sad,” said Kenya Guzman, who lives near the crash site.
Police confirmed that the vehicle caught fire following the collision, and investigators continue to work to determine the circumstances that led to the deadly crash.
The Milwaukee Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact authorities as the investigation continues.
