SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport community is mourning the loss of 25-year-old Xavier Dewayne Green, who lost his life in a violent crash early Sunday morning, Nov. 16, along West 70th Street.

According to KSLA and Northern News Now, the crash happened around 4:20 a.m. as Green was driving on West 70th. For reasons that remain under investigation, his vehicle suddenly left the roadway. The car flipped several times before slamming into a tree, the impact leaving behind a devastating scene.
First responders arrived quickly, but the damage was catastrophic. Green was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:35 a.m.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the crash. Investigators are working to learn whether speed, a medical issue, a roadway hazard, or another factor caused Green to lose control.
News of his passing has been heartbreaking for friends, family, and neighbors who knew him as a kind, spirited young man with a bright personality. Loved ones say the shock of losing someone so young and full of promise has been overwhelming, and many spent Sunday sharing memories and supporting one another through the sudden grief.
The Shreveport Police Department continues to investigate and urges anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information to come forward.
