CLEVELAND, TN — Officers with the Cleveland Police Department made an arrest following a shooting that occurred late Sunday, November 16, 2025.
At approximately 10:53 p.m., police responded to a report of gunfire at 920 25th Street NW. Upon arrival, officers found a white male victim, later identified as David “Brody” Bishop, lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers immediately rendered aid until EMS personnel transported Bishop to a local hospital for treatment.
Witnesses at the scene provided descriptions of both the suspect and the suspect vehicle. According to statements, a white male driving a maroon Lexus sedan with large chrome wheels entered the parking lot, briefly interacted with a group of people, then brandished a handgun, fired a round into the air, and subsequently shot Bishop at close range.
Witnesses identified the suspect as Cameron Cox. Police located Cox in his vehicle shortly afterward on the on-ramp of APD 40 at 20th Street and took him into custody without incident. Following interviews conducted by Cleveland Police investigators, Cox was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.
Cox was transported to the Bradley County Justice Center for booking.
The Cleveland Police Department confirmed that this remains an active investigation and urges anyone with additional information to come forward and assist authorities in their ongoing efforts.
