BYRNES MILL, Mo. — A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning when a 30-year-old woman from High Ridge was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 30 near Upper Byrnes Mill Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Troop C, the crash took place at approximately 6:58 a.m., and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:11 a.m.

Authorities report that the vehicle involved fled the scene immediately after the collision. Both the Byrnes Mill Police Department and MSHP Troop C are actively investigating the crash. Preliminary findings indicate the suspect vehicle may be a blue Chevrolet, either an Avalanche, Tahoe, or Suburban, from model years 2007 to 2013. The vehicle is expected to have heavy front-end damage on the passenger side, which may aid investigators in identifying it.
