Man Identified as Zayy Stacks Killed in Frayser Shooting; Two Others Injured

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Saturday night shooting in the Frayser community left one man dead and two others critically injured, according to the Memphis Police Department. The victim who died at the scene has been identified by loved ones as Zayy Stacks, a young man known locally for his music and presence in the neighborhood.

The shooting occurred just before 10:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Frayser Boulevard. When officers arrived, they discovered three men suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Zayy Stacks was pronounced dead on the scene. The two surviving victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

According to MPD, the incident stemmed from a disturbance that began inside a nearby store. The confrontation reportedly involved the two injured men and two unidentified suspects. After the altercation escalated, shots were fired, leading to the deadly outcome outside.

Police said the two suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting. One was last seen wearing all-black clothing, while the other was described as wearing a blue shirt.
