LOGANVILLE, Ga. — The Loganville community is grieving the tragic loss of Kimberly Whaley, 62, whose life was taken in a senseless act of violence outside a local CVS Pharmacy. Kimberly, a cherished resident of Loganville, was shot in the head on Friday, November 14, 2025, in the parking lot of the CVS at 4377 Atlanta Highway.

The shooting occurred around 1:55 p.m., prompting an urgent response from first responders who found Kimberly critically injured. Emergency crews provided lifesaving care at the scene before she was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. For two days, Kimberly fought bravely as loved ones, neighbors, and the wider community prayed for her recovery. Despite the tireless efforts of medical staff, she tragically passed away on Sunday afternoon, leaving behind a wave of sorrow that has touched many hearts.

Authorities confirmed that a person of interest was taken into custody by Lawrenceville Police shortly after the incident, located through license-plate recognition cameras following a BOLO from Loganville Police. While the individual remains detained, no charges have yet been filed as investigators continue working to determine the motive and the events that led to this heartbreaking tragedy.
