In Loving Memory of Dondi L. Blackburn

Wash. — The Aberdeen community is mourning the tragic loss of Dondi L. Blackburn, 57, who lost his life Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 101, just south of Milepost 119. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and neighbors heartbroken.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred when Blackburn was driving a northbound 1993 blue Ford Probe along a left-hand curve. The vehicle lost control, sliding sideways into the southbound lane, where it was struck on the passenger side by a 2000 silver Chevrolet Geo. The collision caused severe damage to both vehicles.

Emergency responders airlifted Blackburn to St. Joseph Medical Center, but despite the efforts of medical personnel, he tragically lost his life. Troopers confirmed that he had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and that no drugs or alcohol were involved.

The Chevrolet Geo’s occupants, both from Tacoma, were injured in the collision. Torie R. Danford, 23, a passenger, and Kaely M. Temi, 24, the driver, were transported to Harbor Regional Health for treatment. Officials noted that Temi was not wearing a seatbelt. Both vehicles were totaled and later removed from the scene by Aberdeen Auto Wrecking. The Washington State Patrol listed the cause of the crash as “speeds too fast for conditions.”

Dondi Blackburn is remembered as a devoted family member and a respected member of the Aberdeen community. Friends and neighbors describe him as kind-hearted, hardworking, and someone who brought positivity to those around him. His sudden and tragic loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him.

As the community continues to mourn, thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Dondi’s life, though cut tragically short, will be remembered for the kindness, dedication, and warmth he shared with others.

May Dondi L. Blackburn rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort to those who loved him.
