62-Year-Old Woman Dies After Loganville CVS Shooting; Investigation Continues

LOGANVILLE, Ga. — The woman who was critically injured in Friday afternoon’s shooting outside the CVS Pharmacy on Atlanta Highway has died, according to Loganville Police Chief Dick Lowry.

The victim has been identified as 62-year-old Kimberly Whaley of Loganville. Police said Whaley was shot in the head in the parking lot of the CVS at 4377 Atlanta Highway around 1:55 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025. Emergency responders treated her at the scene before she was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where she remained in critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities confirmed that a person of interest was detained by Lawrenceville Police shortly after the shooting. The individual was located through license-plate camera systems following a BOLO issued by Loganville Police and was taken into custody without incident. As of Monday, no charges have been filed, and officials have not released a possible motive.

Loganville Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and detectives are working to determine what led to the violent encounter.
